Faculty Advisors Step Up to Speak About Course Redesign

Humanities and Social Sciences faculty came together on November 11, 2011 to participate in Pearson’s second Speaking About Course Redesign online conference. Over the course of four, hour-long sessions more than 65 faculty learned about course redesign through the first-hand experiences of five Faculty Advisors:
¨       Kristy Britt from the University of South Alabama discussed Course Redesign with MySpanishLab.
¨       Xiaoping Wang from Northeast State Community College discussed Course Redesign with MyPsychLab.
¨       Randi Brummett and Brooke Hughes, both from California State University in Bakersfield, discussed Course Redesign with MyWritingLab.
¨       Sue Spaulding from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte discussed Course Redesign with MyPsychLab.
If you didn’t get a chance to attend this conference, or did attend but would like to see a session again, you can view recordings from the conference online. If you’d like to see the recordings as well as view separate PowerPoint presentations from the conference, please click on the “Past Sessions” tab in our Speaking About series archive. These events are a great way to learn more about Course Redesign from the comfort of your own home or office. All you need is a computer and an Internet connection. There’s no registration fee to attend.

A third conference in the Speaking About Course Redesign for the Humanities and Social Sciences is scheduled for March 2012. Details on this event will be available early Spring. We hope you’ll take advantage of all Pearson’s Speaking About Professional Development events. To see what topics we’ve already covered as well as what’s coming in Spring 2012, please visit Pearson’s Speaking About page. We have archives available for a variety of disciplines including English, Communication, Political Science, World Languages, Science, Math, and more.

What events are you looking forward to participating in this year?
