Mastering Faculty Come Together in Scottsdale for Leadership Conference

The 3rd annual Mastering Leadership Conference, devoted to innovation and excellence in teaching across science and engineering took place in Scottsdale, Arizona this March. Faculty came together to establish a supportive network to explore new facets of teaching and learning using the Mastering platform specifically and technology in general.

Not only were ideas and innovations shared, but evidence of the educational effectiveness of Mastering was presented. With learning as the focus for the event attendees were given an overview of new Mastering features and what’s coming along with hands-on time based on experience level and discipline. Time was set aside for a share-a-thon of teaching ideas as well. A popular addition to the workshop took place outside the hotel when attendees were taken to the Desert Botanical Gardens.

Attendees left the conference with new ideas to put into practice with their students.

The event and activities were superbly coordinated.
--Bronwen Steele, Estrella Mountain Community College

The Pearson team was great! Everyone was so helpful and resourceful. I really appreciated the attention to detail the Pearson team displayed from the beginning to the end. I appreciate how the schedule was carefully laid out and how each scheduled event started on time.
--Sharon Brown, University of Maryland, University College

Loved the experience, I learned a lot of useful material and am re-energized.
--James McCaughern-Carucci, St. Johns River State College

What feature would you add to Mastering if there were no limitations to what could be developed? What current feature of Mastering do you find to be the most innovative?
